Jason Grant

Owner of Cozy Home ServicesJason Grant

Jason grew up in the trades. His grandfather did it, his dad did it, and by the time Jason was old enough to hand someone a wrench, he was already learning what it meant to actually fix something right.

That background covers a lot of ground, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, solar. Not just one specialty, but all of it, from crawling under houses to figuring out why a system that should work doesn’t. That kind of cross-trade experience is rare, and it changes how you look at a home. When you’ve done the work yourself across multiple systems, you start to see how everything connects. A house that’s uncomfortable in summer isn’t always an AC problem. Sometimes it’s ductwork. Sometimes it’s insulation. Sometimes it’s both.

That perspective is what Cozy Home Services is built around.

Jason’s approach

He started the company with one goal: give homeowners the honest answer, not the easy one. A lot of contractors will tell you what you want to hear. Jason built Cozy around the opposite — diagnosing the real issue, explaining it in plain terms, and recommending what will actually help long-term.

He’s still hands-on in the business. He sets the training standards, oversees how calls are handled, and makes sure every tech on the team operates the same way he would.

HVAC Credentials & Licenses

Jason holds an advanced technical degree and is licensed and certified across the following: C-20 HVAC, C-36 Plumbing, and C-46 Solar (all California state licenses), BPI Certified through the Building Performance Institute, Mitsubishi Elite Diamond Contractor, Trane Comfort Specialist, and Nexstar Certified.

The BPI certification in particular reflects how Jason thinks about homes, not as a collection of separate systems, but as one thing that either works well or doesn’t. That whole-home approach guides how Cozy diagnoses problems and what solutions they recommend.

What Jason writes about

A lot of the articles on his blog come from questions real customers ask, why is one room always hot, what’s actually happening when a water heater makes noise, is a new system worth it or will maintenance buy a few more years. Jason translates the trade knowledge into answers that actually help people make a decision.

If you’ve got a question about your home, that’s a good place to start.
